Using the rail trolley

The bogie is that part of a railway vehicle that comprises the running gear and the supporting structure connected to it. A bogie (or even small chassis) enjoys relative movement in relation to the main chassis, one of rotation around a pivot linking the two frames, the other of lateral displacement as the pivot case (a case linked to the bogie) can swing in a plane transverse to the car. This connection of a pendulum nature gives rise to a recall force (a component of gravity) that automatically returns the carriage, as it moves through the bends, to its normal position in the centreline.
